I’ve written about business and investing for a living since 2013 — tens of thousands of published articles, primarily for The Motley Fool, across technology, industrials, financials, and consumer goods. My work has also been republished by Yahoo Finance, Nasdaq, and other outlets. Clients hire a person, not a pipeline. With me, that person is the one whose name is on the work.
Before writing full time, I served in the U.S. Army from 2007 to 2011, including as a noncommissioned officer. I also own and serve as chief investment officer of Sparks Capital Management, and I hold an MBA from Colorado State University. Those experiences shape how I read filings, assess businesses, meet deadlines, and explain what matters.
The Globe and Mail profiled my investing performance and process (opens in a new tab). As of Aug. 13, 2026, TipRanks ranked me No. 123 of 19,243 financial bloggers (opens in a new tab); 68.9% of 505 tracked one-year ratings were profitable, with a 20.3% average return per rating.
